Graph Paper Generator — Square & Dot Grid

Make printable square or dot-grid paper with exact millimetre spacing, adjustable margins, paper size and an ink-saving option.

How it works

Choose squares for charts, geometry or scale sketches, or dots for flexible notebook pages. Spacing measures one grid cell, or the distance between dot centers, in millimetres. The grid starts inside your selected margins. Adding a title reserves a separate heading area so it does not overlap the grid. Dots are intentionally small; test your printer’s lightest setting before printing many sheets.

Example

For a 5 mm grid on A4, choose A4 portrait, 12 mm margins and 5 mm spacing. The available width is 186 mm. Only full-cell counts are reported; the printable area may end with a partial cell. A downloaded SVG retains the 210 × 297 mm page dimensions.

Page settings

The on-screen sheet is scaled to fit the preview panel. It is not a physical ruler. Choose the same paper size in your printer dialog, select 100% or Actual size, and disable browser headers and footers. Scaling to fit may change grid spacing and label alignment. Printer hardware may have its own unprintable area, so test one page before making copies. SVG downloads preserve the declared width and height in millimetres; an application importing the file must honor those units. Ink-saving mode lightens the guides without adding a colored page background.
